February 19, 2010, NABET Local 57045 sat down with the company KETV for contract negotiations.We handed the company our proposals reasonably asking to discuss sections of the contract that relates to engineering jurisdictions, asking to add paragraphs for new concepts, remove exceptions for part time employees in relation to overtime, 6th and 7th day as well as short-turn around, vacation and personal days.
We have also asked to have a 20 week cap removed on layoff severance/notice pay for those who have been employed for 10 years or more.
KETV in turn handed NABET their proposals which was a list of 9 items that later grew to 15 or more. They involve changes to Engineering jurisdiction, no pay increase, shift/schedule changes, the right to layoff employees without reason, have an unlimited amount of part time employees with unlimited amount of hours and the list goes on.
